We are delighted to announce Andrew McGregor as our new patron. As many of you will know, Andrew is one of the co-founders of Largs Youth Theatre and we are delighted to have him on board !
Andy is a director, composer and playwright. He trained at Glasgow University and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Shows he has written, composed and directed include Spuds, The Rise and Inevitable Fall of Lucas Petit, Pure Freezin’, Love 2.0 and Vinyl Idol (with Debbie Hannan). His musical Crocodile Rock (Play a Pie and a Pint) was broadcast on the BBC. He wrote and composed The Park (National Theatre of Scotland) as part of Scenes for Survival. He has also made various Christmas shows for wee ones at The Citizens Theatre and wrote and directed The Snow Queen (PACE). He has directed The Dolls Dragged Up (Scottish Tour) , Disturbed (Play, Pie and a Pint), Godspell and Twelfth Night (RCS). He has composed for The Royal Court, The National Theatre of Scotland and the National Youth Theatre. He composed and sound-designed The Ugly One (Tron). His new play for young people, Influence, was commissioned and performed for 6 theatres UK-wide, from Dundee Rep to Plymouth Royal.
We are thrilled to have Andy back with us as one of our patrons and hope he will inspire our students going forward !
